I wanted to show you a picture of my garden not to shock you but to show you that blogs are not always perfect with perfect pictures and lives. You won't find that here. What you will find is honesty and true stories of life being lived. Are you ready? Brace yourself...
Under all those tall weeds are my plants, green beans, beets, okra, tomatoes, spinach...etc.
ok here is another saying, "don't cry over spilt milk." well, in our case don't cry over unharvested vegetables. This summer was crazy with my parents in and out of the hospital 8 times and the fact that our weather was crazy good for growing weeds, left us with this mess. Out of our 20 years of gardening our garden has never looked like this. Although we are getting some good radishes, pumpkins and sunflowers!
We need to remember to be thankful for what we have and forget about what hasn't gone as planned or what we thought we should have accomplished this season and for whatever reason didn't. Tomorrow is another day and next summer is another chance to garden, or what ever it is, we all have another chance to get it right. The main thing is we give it another try and forgive ourselves for whatever our short comings may have been. Prioritize things of greatest importance and do them first. My parents and family came before gardening this year and next year maybe just maybe it won't be as busy and the garden will flourish and we will reap an abundant harvest.
So I'm moving onto fall and those nice pumpkins. The kids will love to carve them and toast the seeds. We are blessed and you are too.
